It is present in version 3.1 with its agile and dynamic gameplay. How strong is he? Check out the following explanation of the Cyno Genshin Impact build tips.

Best Cyno Genshin Impact Build

Overview Gameplay Cyno

Cyno is an Electro B5 character with a polearm weapon. He is played as an on-field DPS character, capable of dealing Electro damage over a long period. The gameplay is entirely selfish, so it takes longer than other characters on the team. Examples of different characters with similar gameplay are Xiao, Arataki Itto, and Razor.

His Elemental Burst is Cyno’s primary source of damage, providing Electro infusion to his attacks. Apart from that, Cyno also has a unique mechanic for using Elemental Skills. If the Elemental Skill is activated at the specified time, Cyno will produce more substantial and broader area damage.

Just like other hypercarry character problems, Cyno has a high energy cost. Fortunately, Cyno’s Elemental Skill can still produce energy particles when his Elemental Burst is active. The short cooldown of Elemental Skills and access to Electro Resonance will alleviate this problem.

Unlike Arataki Itto and Xiao, who don’t benefit from Element reactions, Cyno has access to Quicken reactions, a mixture of Dendro and Electro reactions. Thus, one way to maximize Cyno’s potential is to bring at least 1 Dendro character on the team.

Elemental Skill – Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer

Cyno will launch an attack forward, dealing Electro DMG to enemies hit.

As long as Elemental Burst is active, Elemental Skill effect will change to Electro area attack and will extend the duration of Elemental Burst. The additional time of this method is 4 seconds for each use of the Elemental Skill.

The maximum limit for extending Elemental Burst in this way is 18 seconds.

Elemental Burst – Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness

When activated, Cyno will enter the Pactsworn Pathclearer state, which has the following effects:

Regular Attacks, Charged, and Plunge Attacks will be converted into Electro, which other elements cannot override.

Receive +100 Elemental Mastery.

It gets additional interruption resistance and is immune to damage from Electro-Charged reactions.

Elemental Burst will end if Cyno leaves the arena.

Because it has different scaling, you don’t need to increase Cyno’s Normal Attack talent.

Passive Talent 1: Featherfall Judgment

While Elemental Burst is in progress, players will receive an indicator in the form of an eye on the screen at set intervals. If the player activates the Elemental Skill when the hand appears, then:

Elemental Skill damage will increase by 35%.

It fires three additional attacks forward, each dealing Electro damage of 100% of Cyno’s ATK. The damage from this attack is calculated as Elemental Skill damage.

Passive Talent 2: Authority Over the Nine Bows

Cyno’s damage will increase based on the Elementary Mastery he has, with details:

When Elemental Burst is active, Average Attack Damage will increase by 150% of the Elemental Mastery amount. Shot three lightning bolts from passive talent, and one will increase by 250% of the amount of Elemental Mastery.

Passive Talent 3: The Gift of Silence

When Cyno goes on an expedition in the Sumeru area for 20 hours, players will get a bonus of 25%.

Talent Priority: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill.

Cyno Artifacts

Cyno has several Artifact choices, which can be adjusted according to the playstyle and team that the player uses. You can use 4-pc Thundering Fury, 4-pc Gilded Dreams, 4-pc Gladiator’s Finale, and 4-pc Thundersoother.

Here are some notes about each recommended Artifact:

Thundering Fury

In theory, this Artifact has the most significant damage output for Cyno. The passive effect will provide an additional Electro DMG Bonus, then 20% additional damage generated when Aggravate, and will cut Elemental Skill cooldown every time Cyno triggers Electro elemental reactions.

But in practice, there will be many distractions, either in-game or from players. You must also launch the right combo with tight timing to issue Cyno’s maximum damage from Thundering Fury.

Information about Thundering Fury attack combos can be found in the tips section at the end of the guide.

Gilded Dreams & Gladiator’s Finale

These two Artifacts provide relatively equal performance for Cyno, with insignificant differences. But remember that Gladiator’s Finale will only increase Cyno’s Normal Attack damage, and the passive effect will ignore his Elemental Skills.

As for Gilded Dreams, Cyno will get a lot of EM and ATK%, strengthening each of his attacks, so Gilded Dreams is the most comfortable choice among the 4 Artifact choices.

One of the advantages of Gladiator’s Finale compared to Gilded Dreams is that this Artifact has been around since Genshin Impact version 1.0, so players tend to have more (and possibly better) Gladiator’s Finale compared to Gilded Dreams, which was released in version 3.0.

Thundersoother

Thundersoother has a relatively passive solid effect but with specific conditions. Cyno will get additional damage of up to 40% if the enemy being attacked is being hit by Electro. Thus, the team used by Cyno will be minimal. An example of a team that can use this Artifact is the Mono-Electro or the Taser team.

Alternative Artifacts

If you don’t have one of the Artifact choices above with good substats, you can temporarily use Artifacts such as 2-pc Thundering Fury, 2-pc Gilded Dreams, or 2-pc Gladiator’s Finale.

Main stats to look for:

Sands: Elemental Mastery / ATK%.

Goblet: Electro DMG Bonus%.

Circlet: Crit rate/DMG%.

Sub stat priority: Crit Rate/DMG% > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge% > ATK%.

Weapon

The weapons section will be divided into two parts: the best weapons and the best F2P weapons.

Cyno’s best weapon is the Staff of the Scarlet Sands, his signature weapon. This weapon has a high Crit Rate substat and will provide a lot of additional ATK based on Cyno’s Elemental Mastery. This weapon was designed to support Cyno’s game and meet his stat requirements.

Alternatively, you can use other polearms between Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, Staff of Homa, Calamity Queller, Vortex Vanquisher, and Deathmatch from the Battle Pass.

PJWS and Staff of Homa have equivalent performance for Cyno, so you can use either, depending on the stat ratio your Cyno has.

Deathmatch is a good weapon because it has a large Crit Rate substrate and an excellent passive effect. This weapon will get stronger with refinement.

Calamity Queller will provide an ATK stat, which is excessive for Cyno because he requires more Elemental Mastery than other DPS characters. However, the passive effect of this weapon is quite good because it will increase all the Electro damage that Cyno produces, with a very high base ATK.

Vortex Vanquisher has a similar situation, providing excessive ATK stats. Moreover, because of the passive effect, which requires having a shield, a shielder character is needed to bring out the best potential of this weapon, which will sometimes limit the choice of team composition.

For Cyno’s F2P weapon choices, you can use White Tassel, Kitain Cross Spear, Moonpiercer, MissiveWindspear, BlackcliffPole, or Dragon’sBane.

White Tassel is the best F2P weapon for Cyno because of its passive effect, which will increase Normal Attack damage by up to 48% on R5. The Crit Rate substate is valuable for Cyno to balance its stat ratio. The small base ATK of this weapon is not a significant problem.

Unfortunately, this weapon cannot be obtained via gacha, and there is a possibility that this weapon has become fodder for other weapons by accident. Players will find this weapon when opening chests scattered across Teyvat. If you will use this weapon, use it at maximum refinement. If not, you should use another gun.

Especially for Dragon’s Bane, this weapon is only suitable for specific teams because its passive effect is only active when attacking enemies affected by Pyro or Hydro. One team composition that this weapon can support is the Taser or Overload team.

Team Composition

Here are some examples of Cyno team composition you can use:

This team composition utilizes the quickened reaction from Dendro and Electro, which will increase Electro’s damage significantly (Aggravate). In this team, Cyno will be assisted by Fischl as sub DPS and battery, Dendro MC as Dendro enabler, and Sucrose or Kazuha to reduce the enemy’s Electro RES. If you need a defensive character, you can use Kuki Shinobu instead of Fischl or Zhongli in place of Anemo.

For the Hydro character, you can use the duet Xingqiu and Yelan. However, you can also use Ayato as an alternative because his Elemental Burst will increase Cyno’s Normal Attack damage and has a wide range of Hydro attacks. Pay attention to Ayato’s Energy Recharge when used in this team.

However, you can still use the Anemo character as a replacement for one of the Hydro characters in this team.

Another classic team that you can use is the Overload team. This team takes advantage of the reactions between Pyro and Electro and raw damage from three of the strongest B4 characters in Genshin Impact, namely Fischl, Bennett, and Xiangling. This team is more suitable against heavy enemies like boss enemies, which don’t bounce quickly.

The Mono-Electro team utilizes raw damage from three Electro characters, namely Cyno, Fischl, and Beidou, as the damaged generator. For the last character, you can use Anemo characters like Sucrose Kazuha or Zhongli if you need a defensive nature.

Team Hypercarry is a team composition that focuses on giving as many buffs as possible to 1 character, which in this case is Cyno. Combining two Geos from Yun Jin and Zhongli can balance Cyno’s offensive and defensive sides. For the last character, you can use Bennett, Kazuha, or Dendro MC, according to your needs.

Cyno Genshin Impact Tips

The following are some tips that you can use:

One of the misconceptions players have when playing Cyno is using their Elemental Burst until the duration ends. Indeed, the time of the Elemental Burst can be extended up to 18 seconds, but unfortunately, the ability of other characters to issue skills or off-field damage is not that long.

This includes buffs and debuffs such as the effects of Viridescent Hunt, Burst Bennett & Yun Jin, and other buffs. So, when another character’s skill is over, immediately change characters and continue team rotation from the start.

As mentioned previously, Thundering Fury requires players to follow a patented playing style and combos. If you’re interested in trying the combo, here’s the sequence:

Elemental Skill -> Elemental Burst.

Normal Attack 4x -> Elemental Skills.

Normal Attack 4x -> Elemental Skill (Endseer Stance/eye indicator).

Repeat combo number 2 until the next rotation.

If the above combo is interrupted, you can stop using your Elemental Skill until the next Endseer Stance appears or start a new team rotation if the interrupt is at the end of the Elemental Burst duration.

Examples of interference that could potentially disrupt the combo above are:

Cyno gets hit by an inevitable attack or bounces off.

Sprint between combos, either to avoid enemy attacks or to chase enemies who are moving away.

Enemies fought to drive or fly out of range.

There is no reduction in the duration of the Thundering Fury passive effect, which a player’s playing error may cause.

Bad connection.

If you don’t mind the things mentioned above, Thundering Fury is the right Artifact for you. If not, you can use Gilded Dreams.

Despite having a solid skills kit with sound damage output, Cyno must be completed. Only after version 3.1 was a Dendro character who could accompany Cyno until the duration of his Burst ended.

Thus, HoYoverse will solve this problem by releasing Nahida as a Dendro Archon in version 3.2. Furthermore, Cyno’s performance will need to improve because of the availability of other Dendro characters in version 3.1.

Those are the best Cyno Genshin Impact build tips to practice yourself.
