All About Genshin Elements You Need to Know

Genshin is the most unique and favorite game in The world. Besides that, you have to know about little detail to improve your gameplay mechanism, such as Genshin Elemental.

Teyvat has seven distinct elements: Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro, Dendro, Cryo, and Geo. Each piece is associated with a god or Archon and, consequently, a nation. Besides the Archons, some people possess a unique ability called a Vision, allowing them to wield a particular element. All playable characters in the Genshin Impact game, except the Traveler and the Archons, are Vision holders.

7 Genshin Elements

In the expansive open-world game Genshin Impact, the vast continent of Teyvat is inhabited by seven elements that continuously interact and combine. These elements are crucial in shaping the Traveler’s abilities and surroundings. They influence everything from the Traveler’s current condition and combat prowess to the divine entities who rule over each nation uniquely.

The elements featured in Genshin Impact include fire, water, wind, lightning, nature, frost, and earth, each possessing captivating and enigmatic lore. To begin their journey, Travelers should familiarize themselves with these elements and understand how to utilize them to conquer enemies, optimize their party’s performance, and trigger powerful reactions. These abilities extend beyond combat, allowing Travelers to perform tasks such as lighting torches and clearing away obstacles.

We have compiled a comprehensive guide on Genshin Impact elements, elemental reactions, and resonances to aid your adventure. This resource will prove invaluable in mastering the game’s mechanics and unleashing the full potential of the elements at your disposal.

1. Pyro

Pyro, the element of fire, is overseen by Murata, revered as the Goddess of War. Details about the Pyro Archon are scarce, but it is acknowledged that she is a female ruler who governs the nation of Nathan.

Besides its applications in combat, Pyro serves various in-game purposes, like illuminating torches and stoves. This elemental ability becomes especially advantageous when journeying to Dragonspine, where the region’s Sheer Cold mechanic poses challenges that can be overcome with Pyro’s warmth.

2. Hydro

Hydro, associated with the yet-to-be-named Goddess of Justice, dominates Fontaine and represents a female Archon.

It can bestow a “wet status” upon your character by stepping on a puddle, swimming in the water, or being drenched in rain. Barbara, a 4-star Hydro catalyst user, possesses an elemental skill to apply this status effect to your entire party. Though it doesn’t inflict damage, this status effect can create interesting interactions when combined with other reactive elements.

3. Anemo

The element of Anemo, associated with the Archon Barbatos or the God of Freedom, is represented by the playable character “tone-deaf bard” Venti, a 5-star bow user. Venti quietly oversees Mondstadt, the initial region accessible in Teyvat.

The Traveler’s first resonance and use of elemental power occur with Anemo. During certain quests, particularly in Mondstadt, you may be requested to clear a pile of leaves, a simple task made easy if you have an Anemo character in your party.

4. Electro

The element of Electro, represented by its Archon Beelzebul, also known as Raiden Shogun, governs over the city of Inazuma. As a playable 5-star Electro polearm user, she wields the power of lightning.

Implementing the Electro status on your characters outside of battles can be challenging. One method to inflict Electro damage is by striking lightning during thunderstorms. Additionally, in the region of Inazuma, particularly in Kannazuka, Thunder Sakura trees can cause area-of-effect (AoE) Electro damage.

5. Geo

Geo, representing the element of earth, possesses an Archon known as Morax, also called the God of Contracts. In the past, Morax governed the city of Liyue, but he later chose to retire and assume the identity of Zhongli, a 5-star playable character proficient in using a Geo polearm. Presently, he serves as an advisor at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Similar to Anemo, the Geo status does not influence your characters directly. However, adversaries within the game, such as Geo slimes and Geovishaps, can apply for the Geo status and deal Geo-based damage.

6. Dendro

Dendro represents nature and belongs to Kusanali, the Archon, also known as the God of Wisdom. She holds sway over the presently sealed realm of Sumeru, where the renowned Sumeru Academia is located.

In the game’s 3.0 update, the characters Baizhu, Tighnari, Collei, and the Traveller are the sole representatives of Dendro. However, players can expect numerous additional Dendro characters to be introduced shortly!

7. Cryo

The Cryo element, governed by the Tsaritsa, reigns over the nation of Snezhnaya. The Archon’s identity remains mysterious, except that she is a female who commands the loyal diplomats known as the Fatui. Within the game, many characters hailing from Snezhnaya assume the roles of primary antagonists.

Outside of combat, your character can acquire the Cryo status through a Mist Flower Corolla, a flower encased in ice.
