Riot Games has officially outlined the new map pool for Episode 8, featuring the removal of Haven and the return of Icebox with some tweaks. However, Icebox is not the sole map undergoing updates, as Lotus will experience various modifications in the upcoming Valorant Episode.

The Lotus changes are set to take effect with Patch 8.0 on January 8, providing a revamped appearance to the three-site map. The aim is to enhance gameplay balance and foster competitiveness on both sides of the Spike.

Changes to A Link on Lotus

Lotus’s A site undergoes its initial transformation in the vicinity of A main. The diagonal structure next to A Link has been substituted with a more profound corner featuring a couple of crates, providing an optimal setup for defenders to maintain advantageous angles.

As for A Link, defenders will now enjoy an increased area due to the expansion of the connector. A noteworthy addition is observed on the left side of the door leading from the B site, necessitating cautious maneuvering from attackers.

Visual comparisons depict the alterations from the original state to the revamped configuration. Significant modifications are in the pipeline for the A Link area within the Lotus map in Valorant , both in terms of exterior and interior enhancements:

  1. The exterior of A Link is equipped with new crates to serve as cover, transforming the cubby-like space into a square format.
  2. The interior of A Link, extending towards B Site, witnesses an expansion, broadening the wall that previously bordered the door.

A Hut and B Site update

The initial pair of modifications implemented at the B site involve a reduction in the planting boundaries for the spike and an extension towards B Main.

Attackers will now encounter increased difficulty in seizing control of the B site and planting the spike. On a positive note for Defenders, a new corner has been introduced, providing them with an opportunity to catch enemies off guard.

Shifting our focus to the sites themselves, Lotus, a three-site map in Valorant, undergoes alterations aimed at ensuring equal viability for both attackers and defenders on each site:

  1. The A Hut now takes the form of a solid, enclosed structure, featuring a U-shaped cubby positioned towards the back of the site to provide cover.
  2. As for the B Site, its entry point from the attacking side is narrowed, accompanied by the addition of a new corner, while the jump-up boxes are pushed back along an expanded wall.

New-look C Site and C Bend

Lotus’s C site has undergone significant modifications, with notable adjustments to the spike planting area. The region has been expanded towards the stairs, resulting in a reduction of the space near C Hall.

The stairway on the C site has been extended towards C Bend, introducing a new spike planting area. Instead of the previous two boxes next to the pillar, there are now four boxes arranged in a 2×2 formation.

The last set of changes for Valorant Episode 8 focuses on the C Site within Lotus. Recognized for its chaotic nature, let’s examine the enhancements introduced:

  1. The C Site itself has been slightly relocated, eliminating the corner near the defender spawn as a valid spike planting location.
  2. C Bend has been widened, featuring a new corner near the attacker side’s entryway, additional boxes for cover near the stairs, and an elongated ramp for spike planting. A new set of stairs has also been added for access to the extended planting area.
