Cyno is an Electro B5 character with a polearm weapon. He is played as an on-field DPS character, capable of dealing Electro damage over a long period. The gameplay is entirely selfish, so it takes longer than other characters on the team. Examples of different characters with similar gameplay are Xiao, Arataki Itto, and Razor.

His Elemental Burst is Cyno’s primary source of damage, providing Electro infusion to his attacks. Apart from that, Cyno also has a unique mechanic for using Elemental Skills. If the Elemental Skill is activated at the specified time, Cyno will produce more substantial and broader area damage.

Just like other hypercarry character problems, Cyno has a high energy cost. Fortunately, Cyno’s Elemental Skill can still produce energy particles when his Elemental Burst is active. The short cooldown of Elemental Skills and access to Electro Resonance will alleviate this problem.

Elemental Burst – Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness

When activated, Cyno will enter the Pactsworn Pathclearer state, which has the following effects:

• Regular Attacks, Charged, and Plunge Attacks will be converted into Electro, which other elements cannot override.

Cyno Artifacts

Thundering Fury

As for Gilded Dreams, Cyno will get a lot of EM and ATK%, strengthening each of his attacks, so Gilded Dreams is the most comfortable choice among the 4 Artifact choices.

Main stats to look for:

• Sands: Elemental Mastery / ATK%.
• Goblet: Electro DMG Bonus%.
• Circlet: Crit rate/DMG%.
• Sub stat priority: Crit Rate/DMG% > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge% > ATK%.

Weapon

The weapons section will be divided into two parts: the best weapons and the best F2P weapons.

Cyno’s best weapon is the Staff of the Scarlet Sands, his signature weapon. This weapon has a high Crit Rate substat and will provide a lot of additional ATK based on Cyno’s Elemental Mastery. This weapon was designed to support Cyno’s game and meet his stat requirements.

Alternatively, you can use other polearms between Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, Staff of Homa, Calamity Queller, Vortex Vanquisher, and Deathmatch from the Battle Pass.

PJWS and Staff of Homa have equivalent performance for Cyno, so you can use either, depending on the stat ratio your Cyno has.

Deathmatch is a good weapon because it has a large Crit Rate substrate and an excellent passive effect. This weapon will get stronger with refinement.

Calamity Queller will provide an ATK stat, which is excessive for Cyno because he requires more Elemental Mastery than other DPS characters. However, the passive effect of this weapon is quite good because it will increase all the Electro damage that Cyno produces, with a very high base ATK.

In this team, Cyno will be assisted by Fischl as sub DPS and battery, Dendro MC as Dendro enabler, and Sucrose or Kazuha to reduce the enemy’s Electro RES. If you need a defensive character, you can use Kuki Shinobu instead of Fischl or Zhongli in place of Anemo.

For the Hydro character, you can use the duet Xingqiu and Yelan. However, you can also use Ayato as an alternative because his Elemental Burst will increase Cyno’s Normal Attack damage and has a wide range of Hydro attacks. Pay attention to Ayato’s Energy Recharge when used in this team.

However, you can still use the Anemo character as a replacement for one of the Hydro characters in this team.

Team Hypercarry is a team composition that focuses on giving as many buffs as possible to 1 character, which in this case is Cyno. Combining two Geos from Yun Jin and Zhongli can balance Cyno’s offensive and defensive sides. For the last character, you can use Bennett, Kazuha, or Dendro MC, according to your needs.

Cyno Genshin Impact Tips

The following are some tips that you can use:

• One of the misconceptions players have when playing Cyno is using their Elemental Burst until the duration ends. Indeed, the time of the Elemental Burst can be extended up to 18 seconds, but unfortunately, the ability of other characters to issue skills or off-field damage is not that long. 
• This includes buffs and debuffs such as the effects of Viridescent Hunt, Burst Bennett & Yun Jin, and other buffs. So, when another character’s skill is over, immediately change characters and continue team rotation from the start.

As mentioned previously, Thundering Fury requires players to follow a patented playing style and combos. If you’re interested in trying the combo, here’s the sequence:

• Normal Attack 4x -> Elemental Skill (Endseer Stance/eye indicator).
• Repeat combo number 2 until the next rotation.

If the above combo is interrupted, you can stop using your Elemental Skill until the next Endseer Stance appears or start a new team rotation if the interrupt is at the end of the Elemental Burst duration.

Examples of interference that could potentially disrupt the combo above are:

• Cyno gets hit by an inevitable attack or bounces off.
• Sprint between combos, either to avoid enemy attacks or to chase enemies who are moving away.
• Enemies fought to drive or fly out of range.
• There is no reduction in the duration of the Thundering Fury passive effect, which a player’s playing error may cause.
• Bad connection.
