Candace is the first new Hydro B4 character since Genshin Impact was released. Previously, Hydro characters after Barbara and Xingqiu always had rarity B5. Besides having a solid element, Candace can also give hydro infusions to other characters. How good is Candace in Genshin Impact?

The Best Candace Genshin Impact Build
You’re asking for information about building the character “Candace” in the game “Genshin Impact.” However, as of my last knowledge update in September 2021, no character is named “Candace” in Genshin Impact. The game’s roster of characters is periodically expanded through updates, so new characters may have been introduced since then.
Overview Gameplay Candace
Candace is a B4 Hydro character with a polearm weapon. She is designed as a supporting character who can apply Hydro elements through Normal Attack infusion, both from himself and other characters. In addition, his Elemental Skill was able to withstand incoming enemy attacks. This ability is very similar to Beidou and Yun Jin’s parries. The particles produced are also quite a lot.
Unfortunately, her infusion skills aren’t needed, leaving Candace confused. On the one hand, many other Hydro characters are already much more substantial and offer other benefits, such as Xingqiu, Yelan, Ayato, Childe, and Kokomi.
And when viewed from the perspective of the Normal Attack buff for other characters, Yun Jin was already present with the same ability. Yun Jin even had a higher multiplier and longer buff duration. Thus, the difference in elements distinguishes the way these two characters play.
But that does not mean players must choose one of the two characters. Players can still use both in one team to form a specific composition.
Elemental Skill – Sacred Rite: Heron’s Sanctum
When pressed, Candace will hit enemies in front of her with her shield, dealing Hydro DMG.
When held, Candace will raise her shield and withstand damage from the enemy. This defense will be calculated based on Candace’s HP and is more effective when resisting incoming Hydro damage. Candace will hit the ground after holding for a few seconds, dealing Hydro DMG to the enemy.
Elemental Burst – Sacred Rite: Wagtail’s Tide
When activated, Candace will issue an area explosion, which deals Hydro DMG to the enemy, then the buff Prayer of the Crimson Crown will be applied to the active character.
The buff will give:
- +20% Normal Attack DMG.
- Regular Attack characters armed with swords, claymores, and polearms will receive hydro infusions.
- When a character enters the arena, they will release a burst of Hydro DMG around them as long as this buff remains intact.
Passive Talent 1: Aegis of Crossed Arrows
When Candace receives an attack while holding an Elemental Skill, Candace will immediately hit the ground without waiting for the duration to run out.
Passive Talent 2: Celestial Dome of Sand
For every 1000 points of Candace’s maximum HP, the active character’s elemental Normal Attack will increase by 0.5%. This effect will be added to the Prayer of the Crimson Buff on Elemental Burst.
Passive Talent 3: To Dawn’s First Light
Stamina consumption while climbing will be reduced by 20%. Passive talent effects with the same effect cannot be stacked.
Talent Priority: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill.
Constellation
Important Constellation: C1.
In simple terms, the constellation Candace can be described like this:
C1: Elemental Burst buff duration +3 seconds.
C2: When an Elemental Skill hits an enemy, Candace’s maximum HP is increased by 20% for 15 seconds.
C3: Elemental Burst increased by 3 levels.
C4: The cooldown of Elemental Skills on hold will be 6 seconds.
C5: Elemental Skill increased by 3 levels.
C6: When the Elemental Burst buff is active, and the character is actively attacking with an elemental Normal Attack, an explosion will occur, which will deal with Hydro DMG in an area, calculated based on Candace’s maximum HP. This explosion can be triggered every 2.3 seconds and counted as Elemental Burst damage. Candace will not trigger this effect.
Artifacts
As a support character, Candace can use Artifacts such as 4-pc Noblesse Oblige, 4-pc The Exile, or 4-pc Instructor, depending on your team’s needs. Candace can also use the 4-pc Deepwood Memories if you play on the Hyperbloom team and want to increase Dendro’s damage on your team.
Alternatively, you can use Artifacts such as the 2-pc Tenacity of the Millelith and the 2-pc Emblem of Severed Fate.
ER recommendation: 160%.
Main stats wanted:
- Sands: HP%/Energy Recharge%.
- Goblets: HP%.
- Circlet: HP%/ Crit Rate% (If using Favonius Lance).
- Sub stat priority: ER% > HP% > Crit Rate% (only for Favonius Lance) > flat HP.
Candace’s Genshin Impact Weapon
You can use weapons with that substrate because Candace only needs Energy Recharge and HP%. You can use weapons such as the Favonius Lance, Black Tassel, Prototype Starglitter, Skyward Spine, Engulfing Lightning, or The Catch.
For The Catch and the B5 above weapon choices, it is recommended to prioritize other characters first. Candace can wear it if there isn’t a character wearing it.
Team Composition
Candace is, of course, playable on the Freeze team. It becomes a good alternative when players only have Xingqiu in their account. Candace will significantly help the formation of the two Spiral Abyss teams until players find a better option. Examples of Freeze teams that you can use are Candace, Ayaka/Kaeya, Rosaria, and Kazuha.
Team Fridge is a variation of Team Freeze, but with Dendro’s character added to the team. Since Cryo and Dendro can’t react, you don’t have to worry about Dendro breaking Freeze’s reaction. Examples of teams you can use are Candace, Dendro MC, Kaeya/Rosaria, and Diona.
Besides freezing the enemy, this team will produce Dendro Cores, which will damage Dendro. This team will be significantly helped if you have Diona C6, which will dramatically raise Elemental Mastery from other characters.
Candace can also be put into Hyperbloom, which is Dendro Cores’ reaction with Electro. Examples of teams you can use are Candace, Dendro MC, Kuki Shinobu, and Collei/Tighnari. Apart from the Hyperbloom reaction, you can insert a little Quicken reaction to increase Dendro’s damage if you use Tighnari.
Another variation of the previous team is the Burgeon team. This team will take advantage of Dendro Cores’ reaction with Pyro, which will explode and deal Dendro damage to the enemy. The Pyro character that is most suitable for use in this team is Thoma because it has an internal cooldown that will minimize other reactions besides Burgeon. Examples of groups you can use are Candace, Dendro MC, Collei, and Thoma.
One character who can use Candace is Diluc. If Diluc is usually paired with an off-field Hydro character, now she can produce a Vaporize reaction independently through his Normal Attack. Examples of teams you can use are Diluc, Candace, Fischl, and Bennett.
And the last on the team composition list is the Zhongli team. Besides having universal res shred, Zhongli has a very fast and a lot of Normal Attack attack strings, so she can maximize every buff from Candace. You can use Candace and Xingqiu/Yelan to activate Hydro Resonance, increasing Zhongli’s damage even more. For the last character, you can use Yun Jin.
When using this team, make sure your Zhongli uses 4-pc Archaic Petra because it can increase Hydro’s damage by up to 40%. It’s just that note that Zhongli must take the Crystallize shield to activate the Artifact effect.
Tips for Candace Genshin Impact
Before Candace, there were already several other infusion abilities possessed by other characters. Even so, there are several elemental infusions that Candace can override. Examples are Bennett C6, Elemental Burst Diluc, Ayaka, and Keqing. Only Chongyun cannot be overwritten by Candace (and characters whose skills already say that their elemental infusion cannot be overwritten, like Cyno and Raiden Shogun).
For a B4 character that is specifically designed to increase Normal Attack, Candace actually has a reasonably high multiplier. Thus, Candace can actually be played as a main DPS, even though it could be stronger than the characters designed as DPS characters. You must use your best polearm weapon and Artifact 4-pc Heart of Depth to try Candace Main DPS.
Behind her unique design, both visually and in gameplay, unfortunately, Candace does not have a role as special as these two aspects. He also needed help with a constellation that entirely limited his potential.
But at least Candace can still help players when exploring because the talent of reducing stamina consumption when climbing is not possessed by other characters besides Xiao until version 3.1. Moreover, the talent that previously seemed exclusive is now given to B4 characters.
Those were the best Candace Genshin Impact build tips to practice yourself. Good luck! You can maximize Candace Genshin Impact. You can maximize Top Up Genshin Impact on UniPin right now!
