Characters Perfect for the Heart of Depth Artifact Set
The Heart of Depth set, among Genshin Impact’s 5-star artifact collection, can be farmed in the Peak of Vindagnyr domain within Dragonspine, Mondstadt. This domain stands out as the most challenging—you’ve got to brave sub-zero temps while battling the boss.
Broadly speaking, strapping on the Heart of Depth provides perks like beefing up Hydro DMG and amping up Normal or Charged Attacks.
Artifacts’ Bonuses
Before diving into which characters suit this artifact set, it’s wise to know the bonuses that come with the Heart of Depth.
Two artifacts in the set will boost your Hydro DMG by 15%, and with a complete set of four, your Normal and Charged Attacks receive a whopping 30% damage boost on top of the earlier set bonus. The damage hikes after using an Elemental Skill, lasting 10 seconds.
Characters and the Best Artifact Sets
Based on the earlier artifact bonuses, it’s clear that this set is tailor-made for Hydro characters. UniPin suggests using a complete set (four artifacts) for your Hydro character as a DPS.
But not all characters gel with a whole Heart of Depth set. UniPin experimented with various Hydro characters available to determine the most suitable artifact set for each.
Here’s a rundown of the recommended artifact sets for specific characters and the reasons behind them:
Childe
According to UniPin’s findings, Childe or Tartaglia is best suited for either four sets or two sets of Heart of Depth artifacts. His Elemental Skill, Foul Legacy: Raging Tide, switches Childe’s Normal Attack from a ranged bow attack to a melee strike, inflicting Hydro damage.
Using the four-piece set amps up Childe’s damage significantly, considering his frequent Elemental Skill usage as a DPS.
However, if you aim to magnify Childe’s massive Elemental Burst for Burst DPS, the two-piece set and two pieces of Noblesse Oblige work like a charm.
Kamisato Ayato
Like Childe, Ayato fares well with either four sets or two sets of Heart of Depth artifacts. After multiple tests, Ayato’s damage seems more consistent with this set.
His Normal Attack, Kamisato Art: Hyouka, receives a more significant damage boost than what the four-piece Heart of Depth bonus provides.
You might wonder which is better for Ayato—Heart of Depth or Echoes of an Offering. While the latter offers more significant damage chances, the total damage might be less stable than the complete Heart of Depth set.
Yelan
For Yelan, UniPin recommends using two sets of Heart of Depth if you aim to make her a DPS. Since Yelan’s strength lies in total HP-based damage, combining it with Tenacity of the Millelith artifact for additional HP bonuses is a more suitable match.
The four-piece set might need to optimally utilize its bonuses as Yelan’s DPS revolves around Elemental Burst and Normal Attacks rather than Elemental Skills.

Sangonomiya Kokomi
Kokomi can leverage four Heart of Depth artifacts or opt for two sets with a caveat. Like Yelan, Kokomi’s damage is calculated based on HP, so large total HP stats are crucial for the four-set approach.
UniPin suggests a blend of two sets of Heart of Depth and two sets of Tenacity of the Millelith for a balanced setup.
Xingqiu
If you’re building Xingqiu as your DPS, UniPin recommends utilizing two sets of Heart of Depth artifacts combined with two sets of Noblesse Oblige.
Xingqiu’s significant damage spike comes from his Elemental Burst, Guhua Sword: Raincutter. Maximize his potential as a Burst DPS by focusing on his Elemental Burst rather than Elemental Skills.
These are the characters that, according to UniPin, make the best use of the Heart of Depth set. While Barbara can use these artifacts, UniPin feels that building her as a healer might be more challenging.
